In industrial sites, especially in industries that deal with chemical substances, leakage of hazardous substances is a risk factor that must be managed to prevent a potentially catastrophic industrial accident.

In times when proactive prevention is the most effective way to safeguard assets and value, the importance of sensors to prevent leakage of hazardous substances is becoming more vital.

YUMINST Co., Ltd., which participated in NANO KOREA 2020 that was held at KINTEX in Ilsan from July 1st to the 3rd, is the world's first company to develop a “flexible hazardous substance detection sensor.”

Flexible hazardous substance detection sensors solve the shortcomings of existing cable-type sensors.

With greater flexibility than the cable type, it can be installed almost anywhere on a wall, ceiling, or pipe. The detection speed of hazardous substances has also been improved.

YUMINST’s Managing Director Cho Hyun-mook said in an interview with Dong-A Ilbo, “Flexible hazardous substance detection sensors are cheaper than cable-type sensors and can detect 30 to 50 times better than existing sensors.”

Flexible hazardous substance detection sensors can be used across industries.

Demand is increasing not only in areas such as data centers, server farms, and machinery facilities, but also in industrial sites handling organic materials such as semiconductors and displays, and chemical industrial complexes that handle plating and dyeing processes.

YUMINST introduced a reusable LK16-T2-2000HD and multi-magnetic resonance type LK19-T7-1000 at Nano Korea.

Using special polymer materials, LK16-T2-2000HD detects harmful substances such as oil and organic solvents and can be reused after cleaning.

LK19-T7-1000 is a multi-hazardous substance detection system that integrates a water leak distance detection controller, water leak inspection controller, chemical solution detection controller, and oil detection controller into one unit.

Instead of requiring direct contact like the LK16-T2-2000HD, LK19-T7-1000 allows for non-contact detection by applying the world's first magnetic resonance method.

Meanwhile, Yumin ST developed a flexible hazardous substance detection sensor that will only react to specific hazardous substances through printing technology based on polymer nanotechnology.

This will meet the needs of customers who want to manage specific hazardous substances that basic sensors cannot detect.

YUMINST’s Senior Manager Jang Yu-chan said, “This proprietary technology was developed by YUMINST.  We have done our best to build a system that can provide a total solution to customers from tech development to manufacturing, and after-sales service. We will continue to work hard to meet customer needs.”
