YUMINST announced on the 26th that YUMINST CEO Kim Dong-hwan (photo), received the Presidential Award in the new technology commercialization category at the “2022 New Excellent Technology Commercialization Promotion Contest” held at The K Hotel in Seoul on the 20th.
The competition to promote new technology commercialization was hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy’s Korean Agency for Technology and Standards and organized by the Korea New Excellent Product Certification Association and the Korea Industrial Technology Association.
Awards were given to firms, institutions, and individuals who contributed to the development of Korean industries through technological innovation and development.
YUMINST received a presidential award in recognition for its contribution in growing sales of a new excellent product (NEP).
Founded in 2004, YUMINST developed the world's first printed circuit-based flexible liquid detection sensor and received a New Excellent Product (NEP) certification from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in 2009.
In the following years, YUMINST continued to carry out research and development, and in 2020, the company developed the world's first scalable multi-type leak detection flexible sensor system and obtained another NEP certification.
The multi-type leak detection flexible sensor can be extended in length, unlike the company’s original sensor, which has limitations in its length when detecting chemical leaks or organic compound leaks.
Using these features, it is possible to monitor liquid leakage in real time by applying it to external piping or outdoors.
The scope of its application is endless as it can prevent chemical disasters in industrial sites and safely and efficiently monitor work spaces where employees carry out tasks.
The products developed by YUMINST are evaluated as making a significant contribution to preventing safety accidents in industrial sites.
The company has consistently supplied NEP-certified products to 1,300 domestic companies, including semiconductor companies such as Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix, power plants such as Korea Southern Power Company, Korea South-East Power Company, Korea Midland Power Company, and Korea East-West Power Company, nuclear power plants, and petrochemical companies such as LG Display and LG Chem.
CEO Kim said, “We are actively making inroads not only in Korea but also in overseas markets such as the United States, Japan, and the European Union.”
